Bardos are a selection of wines crafted from the regions neighbouring the Duero River, specifically Rueda and Ribero del Duero. The Clea project is an initiative to support women in viticulture and female entrepreneurship in rural areas. They are a tribute to the strong, tenacious women that farm the land. The Crianza and Riserva are made with grapes grown within the hardest area of Ribero del Duero: old battered vines grown on an exposed plain the exceeds 1000m altitude. Without the women looking after this vineyard, it would have been impossible to access its treasures.
All of the wines embody contemporary elegance -avoiding excessive ripeness or opulence- and display fresh, clean, fruit forward wines that delight the palate. The Verdejo from Rueda is one of our best-selling whites and ridiculous value.
The Crianza is 100% old-vine Tempranillo aged for 14 months in French oak. The Reserva has a splash of Cabernet added and is aged for 16 months in French oak. The Bardos Suprema is a mighty bottle that challenges the best wines of the region at a fraction of the price.
A percentage of the sale proceeds from their wines is donated to financing all of these projects.
