At the foothills of the Jura mountains lies the beautiful region known as ‘Le Revermont’, where the Badoz family have been vignerons since 1659! Benoit Badoz took over the reins in 2003 having grown up on the land of his ancestors, so making wine was a natural footstep for him. After studying viticulture in Beaune, he trained with Domaine Carillon in Puligny Montrachet followed by Chateau Petrus in Pomerol before returning to the family estate.
Whilst embracing the traditions of the Jura, he wanted to bring a sense of modernity to some of the wines, so he has two distinct wine lines(?), expressing both styles. They all have great personality and are wonderful to pair with food. Their Vin Jaune 2014 was awarded a Decanter Platinum medal, the highest scoring of all Vin Jaunes. The Trousseau is a beauty; scented and silky with the class and complexity of a decent Pinot Noir. It’s superb with duck.
