The Story

Domaine Billard Père et Fils is a family-run winery located in La Rochepot, a picturesque village approximately 13 kilometeres south of Beaune in Burgundy's Hautes-Côtes de Beaune region. Established in 1930, the estate has been passed down through generations and is currently managed by Jérôme Billard, who has infused the domaine with a philosophy centred on sustainability and organic practices.

The estate encompasses around 26 hectares of vineyards spread across several appellations in the Côte de Beaune, including significant holdings in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, as well as parcels in Saint-Romain, Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, Auxey-Duresses, Beaune, Beaune Premier Cru, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, and Pommard. The vineyards are planted with traditional Burgundian varietals, predominantly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, along with Aligoté.

Under Jérôme's stewardship, the domaine has transitioned to organic farming methods, eliminating chemicals and focusing on soil health. This commitment includes the use of cover crops and severe pruning to maintain low yields, ensuring concentrated and expressive fruit. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentation relies on indigenous yeasts to authentically reflect the terroir.
