The Story

Domaine Bott-Geyl, nestled in Beblenheim boasts a rich winemaking heritage dating back to 1795. The estate has evolved over six generations, blending traditional practices with modern innovations to produce wines that authentically reflect the diverse terroirs of Alsace. In 1993, Jean-Christophe Bott took over the reigns, ushering in a transformative era of biodynamic farming and a renewed focus on terroir-driven wines.

Spanning 15 hectares, the estate cultivates classic Alsace grape varieties across six Grand Cru sites—Sonnenglanz, Mandelberg, Schoenenbourg, Furstentum, Schlossberg, and Sporen—each imparting unique characteristics to its wines. They produce expressive Rieslings, complex Pinot Gris, aromatic Gewurztraminers, and elegant Pinot Noirs, that showcase remarkable minerality, balance, and aging potential.

Jean-Christophe’s commitment to biodynamic principles has been pivotal. After transitioning to organic farming in 2000, the estate achieved biodynamic certification in 2002. Practices including lunar cycle-based vineyard management and minimal intervention in the cellar, ensure the wines authentically reflect their origins. The Grand Cru Schoenenbourg Riesling is renowned for its depth and longevity, while the Sonnenglanz Gewurztraminer offers exotic floral and spice notes. The result is a true expression of Alsace's varied terroirs in each bottle.

Committed to preserving Alsace’s rich viticultural legacy while embracing innovation, the estate crafts wines of purity, elegance, and exceptional quality that continue to gain international recognition.
