Miles is either in the vineyard, in the winery, or on a surfboard. In an attempt to spend a little more time doing the latter, he left his role as head winemaker at Tokara to focus solely on what was previously a side-line project with his own label. He crafts wines with an extraordinary sense of place, passion, and precision.
His philosophy is simple – source grapes from exceptional vineyards, pick them at the right time and then guide the grapes through the natural process to make wines of the highest quality, to allow the natural beauty of the fruit to shine through. His wines showcase the diversity and quality of South African terroir.
Wines like Max, a Bordeaux-style blend, or Saskia, a white blend, are celebrated for their depth, structure, and pure expression of their varietals. One of the stand-out winemakers of his golden generation creating an exemplary line-up of wines.
