Situated between Poggibonsi and Castellina in Chianti, Tenuta Ormanni is one of Tuscany’s most historic wine estates. Founded in the 13th century, it was originally owned by the Florentine Ormanni family, who are even mentioned in Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. The estate changed hands over the centuries, eventually being acquired by Vincenzo Brini in 1818.Today, it remains under the stewardship of the Brini Batacchi family, with Paola Brini Batacchi overseeing operations.
The Chianti Classico is 100% Sangiovese from vines in Barberino Val d’Elsa. It is fermented in stainless steel then undergoes malolactic fermentation in concrete before being aged for 12 months in a mix of Slavonian and French oak, followed by 12 months in concrete tanks.
The estate’s dedication to quality, sustainability, and tradition results in wines that are true expressions of the Chianti region's terroir. A must try.
